I joined the Conscious Brain Lab in September 2023 as a PhD student under supervision of Simon van Gaal. During my ERC funded project, I will focus on feedback processes in the brain and their relation to conscious perception by manipulating the NMDA and GABA receptors. My research will combine EEG, fMRI, eye tracking, behavioural tasks and pharmacological interventions.

Before I started my PhD I obtained a degree in Psychobiology (BSc) and a in Cognitive Neuroscience (Brain and Cognitive Sciences, MSc) at the University of Amsterdam. My first research project was in this lab where I investigated recurrent processing and metacognition with EEG. My next project was at the LUMC, with a focus on magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). Finally, I did my last research project at the Consciousness and Cognition Lab at the University of Cambridge, studying the effect of alertness and attention on cognitive control.
